Bar/Bat Mitzvah Tutoring for Children and Adults

Total Preparation for a Child or Adult's Bar or Bat Mitzvah!

Learn about Torah in an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect in which each person's questions and concerns are honored.

Discuss the meanings and interpretations of Torah portions in an accepting and open-minded atmosphere.

Unaffiliated parents are welcome.

Children and adults can have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in a Synagogue.

I teach children to read Hebrew
They learn the prayers for being honored with an aliyah
They become able to take part in the Shabbat service as full participating members
I help them prepare a Torah reading and/or a Haftarah reading
They learn how to chant Torah and Haftarah trope
They learn in a child-centered environment

Rabbi Jill Hausman is the Rabbi and Cantor of The Actors Temple in New York City. For twelve years, she served as Cantor and part time Rabbi of Boro Park Progressive Synagogue in Brooklyn, NY, a UAHC affiliated Reform congregation. She is both an ordained Rabbi and a Cantor. She has officiated at Jewish and Interfaith weddings, Baby Namings, and B'ris and B'nei Mitzvah ceremonies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Quebec.
